Sisseton, South Dakota Mission Trip
Are you ready to get out of your comfort zone and experience what God is doing in another culture? This summer, Christ Community Church is headed to Sisseton, South Dakota on a short-term mission trip. Interested? Email Dan Jensen.
6th & 7th Grade // Rochester, MN: July 16-21, 2017
-The Rochester service trip will provide our 6th and 7th graders with an opportunity to serve in the community and with the local church. We strongly believe that serving here in our city should serve as a foundation for serving abroad. This missions experience will give students new responsibilities and challenges within a more controlled environment, according to their abilities.
8th, 9th, & 10th Grade // Cleveland, OH: June 17-24, 2017
-This trip to Cleveland will provide our 8th, 9th and 10th graders with the chance to live out their faith and lead others into a richer relationship with Jesus. This trip will require more from the students and challenge them to own their faith as they will be leaders and examples to others in the sports camp and service projects.
10th, 11th & 12th Grade // Guatemala City, Guatemala: June 25-July 3, 2017
-The Guatemala City trip will give our 10th, 11th and 12th graders an opportunity to experience and interact with the global Church outside of the United States. This trip will require students to show a good understanding and ownership of their personal Christian faith, flexibility in cultural differences and a willingness to serve in new situations.
Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA)
Christ Community is part of a fast-growing denomination known as the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The Alliance, or C&MA as it is often called, was begun over one hundred years ago as a missionary movement by Albert Benjamin Simpson. This movement drew people from many different denominations for the single purpose of bringing the Gospel message to places where the Bible had never been preached. As a part of this denomination, Christ Community helps support 700+ US missionaries in 70 countries. Gospel expansion takes place through establishing new churches, discipleship, training church leaders, medical care, helping refugees and displaced people by war and disaster, digging clean water wells, establishing schools, hospitals, and more.
God is changing the world through the ministry of Awana by equipping leaders to reach kids with the gospel and engaging them in long-term discipleship.
- In Cambodia...Christ Community has funded the translation of Awana materials into Khmer (Cambodian language). Currently there are ten Awana clubs being started around the country as pilot programs for churches to use Awana to evangelize and disciple children.
- In Vietnam...Christ Community has helped bring Awana to Vietnam. In just under 4 years of ministry, it has become Awana’s largest work in the Pacific Rim. There are currently 528 clubs and 47,500 children involved - in pursuit of their goal of engaging 10,000 churches and reaching 1 million children.
- In South Africa...In partnership with Hope of Africa, Christ Community has helped bring Awana to South Africa. Currently there are over 5,000 children in 100 churches in the country.
Hope of Africa
Hope of Africa is a community of believers following Christ’s mandate to bind up the brokenhearted and care for orphans and widows in their distress. By mentoring vulnerable African youth, they believe that God can transform their futures from hopelessness and oppression to hope and purpose.

Creating Hope 4 Cambodia
Creating Hope 4 Cambodia is a ministry designed to support ministries affected by the sex trade in Cambodia. Our yearly fundraiser supports ministries related to those affected by the sex trade in Cambodia. Many children in Cambodia quit school after 5th grade and begin to work to support their families. Uneducated children are preyed upon by sex traffickers. We partner with these ministries to give Cambodian children hope for a future by keeping them in school instead of a brothel.
Place of Rescue Orphanage
Eighty-nine families at Christ Community support 45 orphans at Place of Rescue 2 in Cambodia. Sponsorships provide food, tuition, clothing, and the strong opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ.
Cambodian Field Projects
Christ Community supports the Poipet Ambulance Project, which saves many lives through a critical service to the community. The ambulance team works in their off hours to follow up with patients, and many have heard the Gospel and several have come to faith as a result of this witness. This gives their team and the Gospel favor in the Poipet area with medical people, the police, and with the population as a whole.
Operation Christmas Child
In 2015, families at Christ Community packed 1,007 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Shoeboxes are filled with gifts for children in need all over the world. As boxes are distributed, local pastors or church leaders present the Gospel in a fun way designed for kids while family and friends listen in. After receiving shoeboxes, girls and boys are invited to enroll in a 12-week discipleship program.
