We strive to expand the Kingdom of God by:
- Developing and supporting local ministries to reach people around us with the gospel
- Cultivating a Great Commission perspective at all levels within CCC
- Supporting and participating in (primarily C&MA) missions activities to reach people around the world with the gospel
Ongoing Ministries
Alliance Women - Are you interested in learning more about missions here in the United States and around the world? This group delves into a new missions emphasis each month, spends time in prayer about that area, and finishes the evening with fellowship and working together on interesting projects to support the mission fields.
Missionary Care Group meets at the VanHavermaet's home on the third Sunday of the month at 6:30 p.m. We pray for missionaries and put together care packages to send to them. Contact Chuck and Barb VanHavermaet.
New Life Family Services - We support the Rochester location of New Life Family Services. NLFS (www.newlifefamilyservices.com) is an organization committed to supporting women as they face an unexpected pregnancy. They offer free pregnancy tests, confidential counseling, adoption services, abortion alternatives, abstinence speakers/curriculums and support for single mothers, infertile couples and women who have had abortions.
Impacting Cambodia
These are exciting times at CCC in the Missions Department, even though there has not been much public news. We are in the process of expanding our Missions Committee from three or four members to about a dozen individuals, each with specific responsibilities and focus.
We are continuing to get information about our alliance with missionaries in Cambodia. We are excited about the possibility of bringing home one of our Cambodian pastors and an American missionary for the Fall Missions Conference. Meanwhile, we continue to dialogue about financial goals and strategies, which will help us to impact this very lost, yet very open, part of the world.
Though much of our work has been behind the scenes these past few months, we look forward to unveiling an exciting plan for Cambodia this fall. Please pray with us for wisdom and direction as God gives us vision for this needy country. Pray for many strategic alliances to be formed between CCC and missionaries in Cambodia, as well as perhaps other churches that might join us in this effort. Finally, and most importantly, please pray for open hearts among the Cambodian people.
Our Adopted Missionaries
CCC has developed personal relationships with a number of people serving in the mission field. For more information about their current activities, contacting them, or even visiting them, contact Karl and Martha Kirkman.
- David and Chris Manfred were Missionaries-In-Residence from 2004-2005. They serve with CAMA Services in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
- Brad and Dorothy Wood were our Missionaries-In-Residence from 2003-2004. They are career missionaries currently in the Dominican Republic.
- Ed and Valerie Johnson were our Missionaries In Residence for 2002-2003. They came to us from Papua (formerly Irian Jaya), Indonesia. For the past ten years, they have been doing pioneer missionary work among the Diuwe tribe. We have sent groups from CCC on short-term missions to assist them in their work.
